Solutions for hydrophilic polyurethane foams
Baymedix® FP aliphatic isocyanate prepolymers are well suited for formulating hydrophilic polyurethane foams for advanced wound care applications.
These prepolymers can deliver excellent mechanical characteristics and moisture management. Due to the lower water content needed in the production process, more sustainable foam production is possible.
Solutions for froth foams
Baymedix® FD103 and Baymedix® AD111 aqueous aliphatic polyurethane dispersions can be used together in formulations to produce froth foams.
Foams made by mechanical frothing are thermoformable, allowing for form-shaped devices or the embedding of electronics such as sensors. They also offer smooth haptics and high mechanical strength.
For increased chemical resistance, Baymedix® FP520 can be added to the formulation.
Solutions for low-trauma, high-breathability healthcare adhesives
Healthcare adhesives for wound dressings or wearables must adhere effectively, while being breathable and not causing trauma to the skin upon removal.
Baymedix® polyurethane raw materials are designed to offer excellent breathability with a high moisture vapor transmission rate, for adhesives that support better moisture management for the entire medical device.
These polyurethanes also enable gentle adhesion for low-trauma removal, even on sensitive skin. This can help manufacturers to deliver medical devices that offer more patient comfort.
Baymedix® materials allow for tailored formulation of an adhesive’s peel strength – from gentle to very strong – and can be made gamma-sterilization-compatible.
