Applications
Dispercoll® U 2824 has outstanding adhesive properties on many synthetic and natural materials. Heat resistance and the resistance to plasticizers, fats and oils can be enhanced by crosslinking the dispersion polymer with the polycarbodiimide from Desmodur® XP 2802. Depending on the requirement, the addition should lie between 5 and 12 % by wt. Desmodur® XP 2802. Following the addition of Desmodur® XP 2802 the mixture is usable for a longer period of time. This period (pot life) can be up to several months. The pot life depends among other things on the storage temperature of the adhesive dispersion, the addition of Desmodur® XP 2802 and the pH of the adhesive dispersion. The pot life must be tested on a case-by-case basis. The crosslinking reaction between the carboxyl groups and polycarbodiimide begins already when the adhesive layer dries. The open time of the dried adhesive layer must therefore also be adjusted individually to the adhesive dispersion and processing method used.The product should be filtered before further processing, in particular prior to spray application, to separate polymer particles that may occur during drying.

Storage
- Storage in original sealed Covestro container. - Recommended storage temperature: 5 - 23 °C. - Protect from direct sunlight, frost, heat and foreign material. General information: The product is sensitive to frost. Freezing can damage the product irreversibly. Temperatures higher than 30 °C should be avoided. Prolonged storage at higher temperatures may affect the product properties. Containers must be kept sealed and protected from direct sunlight as otherwise the evaporation of water will result in the formation of a non-redispersible polymer film.
Storage time
Covestro represents that, for a period of two months following the day of shipment as stated in the respective transport documents, the product will meet the specifications or values set forth in section "specifications or characteristic data" above, what ever is applicable, provided that the product is stored in full compliance with the storage conditions set forth in and referenced under section "storage" above and is otherwise handled appropriately.The lapse of the two months period does not necessarily mean that the product no longer meets specifications or the set values. However, prior to using said product, Covestro recommends to test such a product if it still meets the specifications or the set values. Covestro does not make any representation regarding the product after the lapse of the two months period and Covestro shall not be responsible or liable in any way for the product failing to meet specifications or the set values after the lapse of the two months period.
