Dispercoll® U polyurethane dispersions are predominantly used for heat-activated adhesives. Grades for wet-in-wet bonding and for bonding at room temperature are also available. Adhesives based on Dispercoll® U are typically combined with water-emulsifiable crosslinkers from the Desmodur® or Bayhydur® range.
One-component latent-reactive systems based on Dispercoll® U polyurethanes can be formulated using latent-reactive isocyanate crosslinkers and have the properties of two-component (2K) systems. They are suitable for adhesive dispersions, precoatings or reactive adhesive films.
Waterborne adhesives using Dispercoll® U are suitable for various applications, which include the durable bonding of automotive interior elements, leather and sole bonding in the shoe industry, foam bonding, and the application of 3D laminate films or “thermofoils” for furniture fronts.
The need for more sustainable solutions is increasing. That’s why we now provide Dispercoll® CQ U grades that not only offer the well-established technical property profile of, previously fossil-based, Dispercoll® U grades but also include a high share of alternative raw materials that enable you to reduce your carbon footprint by up to 40%. These products contribute to reducing the Scope 3 emissions of our customers as well as dependency on fossil resources. Dispercoll® CQ U grades can be used as a direct technical drop-in without any reformulation efforts and utilize raw materials that promote the introduction of waste and residue streams into the adhesive value chain via the mass balance approach. To guarantee sustainable sourcing and transparent attribution of underlying alternative feedstocks, our operations and the upstream supply chain hold ISCC PLUS certifications, audited by an independent third party. Dispercoll® C is predominantly used for the formulation of 1 or 2K adhesive systems utilized in the furniture, mattress or footwear industries.
