Waterborne Resins with an Eye Toward the Future
Waterborne resins are your Coatings of the Future!
Covestro solutions meet these targets and move users beyond basic specifications to the next generation of must have performance attributes:
- Increased coating thickness allows for fewer coats and better manufacturing efficiency.
- Three times less volatile organic compounds with performance characteristics that match solvent-based resins.
- Energy savings with at least 50% less oven time to remove the water, and reduced carbon footprint from manufacturing efficiencies.
“Solutions built on principles of sustainability that meet our customers and their customers’ needs are a core tenet at Covestro.”
What challenges do coatings manufacturers who apply coatings face?
- Everchanging Regulations
- Permitting challenges are preventing expansion needs
- Increasing costs of energy and personnel
- Loss of experienced employees
- SG&A Goals
- Reduced capital budgets
- Changing competitive environment
“Coaters are seeking improvements in factory efficiency. One of our water-based solutions offers up to a 50-60% improvement in line speed while maintaining other key performance properties of the end use product.”
Does meeting a performance specification meet these challenges?
Not necessarily. Let’s move you beyond just meeting performance specs to:
- Accelerate your production
- Increase application thickness and reduce the need for additional coats
- Shorten drying lines leading to energy savings
- Provide faster damage free stacking and packing
- Increase resin stability reducing waste
- Allow production expansion without major capital expenditures
How can resin and coatings suppliers address the challenges of the end user?
Our SOLUTIONS:- Reduce costs
- Increase throughput
- Reduce work
- Reduce energy use
- Reduce carbon
- Eliminate substances of high concern
- Reduce environmental impact
