Decovery®, let's be clear...
The roots of success in plant-based paint
Lifecycle assessments: from cradle-to-gate
For every product in the Decovery® family we conduct a life cycle assessment (LCA) that benchmarks the environmental impact across its entire lifetime from cradle-to-gate versus a fossil-based equivalent.
To make this process as transparent as possible, all our LCAs are reviewed by an independent third party and are based on the latest ISO-14040-14044 quality standards and guidelines from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
So... What’s the carbon footprint of Decovery®?
One crucial role of the LCA is to measure the carbon footprint of our Decovery® family. Today we achieve a carbon footprint reduction of up to 34% versus equivalent fossil-based resins. But what does this mean in real terms?
Making our supply chain more sustainable
At Decovery® we strive to create more sustainable products and processes. We are also the first to admit that we can only be part of the solution. We need to come together as an entire value chain to affect real change. That is why we joined the Together for Sustainability (TfS) initiative – a global program that assesses and audits the supply chains of our suppliers and partners.
The sustainability performance of our supply chain is monitored by independent auditors who visit factories, warehouses, and offices to assess various criteria including the environment, health & safety, labor & human rights, governance, and general management. Based on the findings we work with our partners to continuously improve the environmental impact of their operations. After all, we are all in this together.
