For decades, our heat-resistant thermoplastic Apec® is recognized as being the ideal material for applications in the automotive, electronics, industrial lighting and medical technology sectors. It can comfortably withstand high temperatures up to 150°C according to UL 746B and offers Vicat softening temperatures (50 N; 120°C/h) to up 200 °C.
Through innovation in chemistry, process technology and engineering, we pushed the boundaries of polycarbonate-based materials further and launched Apec® XT a new specialty with a unique value for our customers. The polymers of Covestro's Apec® XT brand deliver exceptional chemical resistance and superior mechanical strength in low temperature environments for demanding applications across industries.
