Product description
Reactive, blocked, aliphatic polyisocyanat.In combination with Bayhydrol® polyols Bayhydur® BL 2867 can be used for the formulation of water-reducible, lightfast one-component polyurethane baking coatings and as an additive in waterborne baking systems to improve flexibility, impact strength and adhesion.
Applications
Bayhydur® BL 2867 was developed as a hardener for water-reducible, lightfast one-component polyurethane baking coatings. The degree of crosslinking and the choice of the polyol component influence the properties of coating films. Areas of application include: Automotive OEM coatings (impact-resistant primers, primer surfacer and topcoats) and high-grade industrial baking coatings (e.g. for electronic devices, parts, automotive accessories). Bayhydur® BL 2867 crosslinks as a function of the degree of crosslinking and the reaction partner.Slight thermal yellowing may occur depending on the baking temperature and the polyol used.

Solubility / thinnability
Bayhydur® BL 2867 can be thinned with water. The compatibility and storage stability of the thinned solutions should always be tested, particularly if cosolvents are used.
Storage
- Storage in original sealed Covestro container. - Recommended storage temperature: 5 - 23 °C. - Protect from moisture, heat and foreign material.
Storage time
Covestro represents that, for a period of six months following the day of shipment as stated in the respective transport documents, the product will meet the specifications or values set forth in section "specifications or characteristic data" above, what ever is applicable, provided that the product is stored in full compliance with the storage conditions set forth in and referenced under section "storage" above and is otherwise handled appropriately. The lapse of the six months period does not necessarily mean that the product no longer meets specifications or the set values. However, prior to using said product, Covestro recommends to test such a product if it still meets the specifications or the set values. Covestro does not make any representation regarding the product after the lapse of the six months period and Covestro shall not be responsible or liable in any way for the product failing to meet specifications or the set values after the lapse of the six months period.
