Noise-cancelling innovation helps create a personalized and comfortable passenger experience
Today, traveling by car is just a way to get from A to B, but that is all changing. In the future, vehicles will be designed to give a new user experience. The adoption of autonomous and smart technologies will transform car interiors into a mobile office, an entertainment center or a place for rest and rejuvenation – making the passenger experience about more than simply getting to the end destination.
A personalized experience
Our privacy dome offers an innovative solution to create a personalized experience for passengers. As ride sharing becomes more common, we anticipate personal privacy will increase in importance. The moveable dome will allow users of ride-share vehicles to have separate spaces to enjoy, blocking out sounds from other passengers and the outside world.
The Baynat® noise cancelling acoustic foam used in the dome not only provides passengers with their own private individual space, it also allows for soothing sounds – such as waves crashing onto a beach – to be played to passengers, creating a truly relaxing experience.
Future versions of the privacy dome could include displays, Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). It could even be used to support autonomous driving by providing trip information or en-route entertainment.
Future opportunities
New vehicle technologies such as the privacy dome are poised to enable what may be one of the greatest economic opportunities of the 21st century: the passenger economy.
By boosting productivity, enabling shorter commutes, reducing traffic and the need for emergency vehicles – plus much more – the passenger economy will generate significant economic and social value.
Our aspiration is not only to enable and collaborate in the creation of best-in-class interiors, but to push the boundaries of what it means to relax, work and travel via car.
“We aim to be instrumental in crafting this seamless user experience, driving the change with innovative materials and technologies that make the versatile interiors of tomorrow possible,” said Galen Greene, PUR Marketing Manager – Automotive.
