Product description
Desmodur XP 2551 is an aromatic polyisocyanate based on diphenylmethane diisocyanate.As a hardener primarily for polymeric concrete.
Applications
Desmodur XP 2551 can combined with polyols such as Desmophen® 5028 GT, 1380 BT or castor oil based polyols. Depending on the Desmophen product used, the coatings yielded can be varied from hard to flexible. It is necessary to add moisture scavengers to the polyol component to prevent the undesired reaction of Desmodur XP 2551 with water. Systems formulated with Desmodur XP 2551 are suitable for coating concrete, asphalt, fibrous cement and plastics.

Compatibility
Desmodur XP 2551 is compatible with numerous hydroxyl-bearing polyesters and polyethers, however compatibility should be tested by the user.
Storage
Desmodur XP 2551 should be stored in tightly sealed original containers and protected from moisture, heat, and foreign materials. Processibility of this product can be adversely affected by contamination. Recommended storage temperature is 10º-30ºC.
Storage time
Desmodur XP 2551 has a shelf life of six months from date of receipt at customer, provided the material is stored in sealed original containers at the recommended storage temperature.
