Product description
Baytec 50789 is a polyurethane rigid foam adhesive system.
Applications
Baytec 50789 system is designed specifically for bonding filter media to glass-reinforced nylon end-plates in closed crankcase ventilation (CCV) filtration applications. It can also be used in other air and oil filtration applications, as well as with metal end-caps. As with any product, use of Baytec 50789 system in a given application must be tested (including but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability for use.
Storage
Avoid moisture contamination during storage, handling and processing. For both components, pad containers with nitrogen or dry air (desiccant cartridge or air dryer at -40°F dew point). Store polyol component from 64°F to 86°F. Mix polyol component to a homogenous state before use and before removing any material from container. For optimum shelf life, the recommended storage temperature for the isocyanate component is 50°F to 86°F. Do not expose isocyanate component to lowers temperatures – material becomes viscous, freezing may occur.
Storage time
Storage period for both components is 6 months after ship date to customer when stored in sealed original containers under previously stated storage conditions.
Processing
* These values provide general information and are not part of the product specification.
*In order to improve adhesion to substrates, the mix ratio can be increased to 89/100 iso/poly parts by weight. Suitability must be determined by user for each part configuration.
Mix Polyol Component B before use and before removing any material from container. Nucleating Polyol Component B typically improves the quality of the foam. Filter media may need to be clamped or weighted during the foaming process in order to maintain print dimensions. Fixture time depends on mass of the adhesive, substrate temperature and curing conditions. Protect Isocyanate Component A from moisture.
