Color, material and finish (CMF) reports and toolkits inspire strategic design

Aesthetics are an important factor in choosing a product, which is why CMF is a key element of design. Together with Chris Lefteri Design, we’re inspiring new and creative ways to apply CMF in product designs with two CMF trends brochures and aesthetic toolkits.

New tools help designers shape the future with CMF

Our brochures give designers an inside look at upcoming CMF trends in color, pattern and texture across the automotive and the electronics, electrical and appliances industries.  

For example, as sustainable consumerism continues to grow, the automotive industry is incorporating this trend in product designs by increasing the use of recycled plastics, reducing energy consumption and carbon footprints, and more. Most advanced plastics with recycled content are produced in black or grey—making black the new green. 

The brochures highlight materials with natural texture, aesthetics and rich details, which deliver added comfort and relaxation. All color information in the brochures is described using the RAL color standard.

We are a leading material supplier, but our value goes beyond providing the materials alone. Through this cooperation with Chris, we look forward to inspiring more collaborators to create and realize aesthetic, efficient and inspiring designs, ultimately providing added value to our customers.

To further inspire designers, we also launched a set of aesthetics toolkits, which showcase the CMF trends by different polycarbonate material grades, depending on industry, application, color, texture and functionality (e.g., light diffusion, transparency). The new toolkit features 24 trendy colors, and helps designers understand the properties of polycarbonates while capturing the visual effects of different combinations to effectively and efficiently bring designs from concept to reality.
