Uralac® resins for powder and 2K PUR solventborne coatings
Uralac® is a versatile collection of polyester and acrylic resins: trusted technologies in many industries. Uralac® powder-coating resins include fast-cure, low-bake, and UV-curing solutions. The portfolio also includes resins for 2K PUR solventborne coatings, well-suited to industrial applications.
Coatings formulated using Uralac® resins can be solvent-based or in solid powder form. They are used in a variety of industrial, automotive, and architectural applications. The resins’ polyester and acrylic technologies provide properties such as durability; mechanical, chemical, and UV resistance; and good leveling and flexibility.
We also provide isocyanate crosslinkers for Uralac®: via the Crelan® portfolio for Uralac® powder-coating resins, and via the Desmodur® portfolio for Uralac® 2K PUR solventborne resins.
Get to know the Uralac® portfolio:
Uralac® Engain: Low-bake powder coating
Based on traditional polyester-epoxy chemistry, Uralac® Engain’s balance of physical stability and easy processing helps you save valuable time and costs. Solutions cure in 3-5 minutes between 140-160°C.
Uralac® Ultra: Fast, low-bake powder coating
Based on an unsaturated polyester, Uralac® Ultra can be applied in a single layer and cures at 120-130°C in only three minutes. This makes it well suited to coating on heat-sensitive substrates.
Uralac® UV: Extra-low-bake powder coating
Based on an unsaturated, semi-crystalline polyester binder, Uralac® UV cures at 100°C or even lower. Often, the whole process takes less than a minute. This makes it very well suited to coating on heat-sensitive substrates, such as MDF, engineered wood, or even solid wood.
Uralac® for solventborne coatings: Polyols for 2K PUR industrial applications
Uralac® medium-to-high-solids polyols for 2K PUR solventborne coatings are well suited to automotive and industrial applications. This portfolio includes Uralac® CY230 E-70, a medium-solids polyester acrylic with good weathering performance and gloss retention, and Uralac® CY255 E-70, a medium-solids acrylic with strong performance in a broad range of industrial applications.
