Independent certification to support textile safety standards

When it comes to apparel, sportswear and outdoor gear, what touches the skin matters. Athletes and outdoor enthusiasts expect their clothing to perform - but they also expect it to be safe and free from harmful substances. OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified products have been independently tested for harmful substances according to extensive scientific criteria that go beyond global regulations, giving both manufacturers and consumers confidence in product safety.

From everyday clothing to sports and outdoor apparel: A wide range of applications

When purchasing materials for textiles - especially those that come into direct contact with the skin - manufacturers look for solutions that can ensure a high level of product safety. In addition, the use of products certified under the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 helps ensure compliance with chemical regulations such as REACH and CPSIA.

Selected grades of our Platilon® and Dureflex® TPU films are certified OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Product Class 1 certified, making them a smart choice for safe, skin-friendly products. This lineup is rounded out by multiple Pontacol® thermoplastic film grades that are ECO PASSPORT-certified, reflecting a commitment to responsible, environmentally conscious production. OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is a label for textiles tested for harmful substances. It sets the benchmark for textile safety, from yarn to finished product.
 
Each component of an OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified product has been laboratory tested and meets strict limit values for over 1,000 harmful substances. The comprehensive OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 testing criteria are based on science and stay ahead of global regulations.

The OEKO-TEX® certification ensures compliance with key global regulations, including Annexes XVII and XIV of the REACH directives, the CPSIA, and the ECHA-SVHC candidate list. Additionally, the certification is recognized by ZDHC from Leve l 1 to Level 3.

OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT certification is designed for manufacturers and distributors of chemicals used in the textile, leather and footwear industries. Chemicals, colourants and auxiliaries that meet the OEKO-TEX ® ECO PASSPORT standard have been tested and analysed against strict criteria, for a lower environmental impact. 

Flexibility in production is just as important as performance in the field. Our certified Platilon®, Dureflex® and Pontacol® films are compatible with standard textile manufacturing processes, including lamination, welding, and bonding — straightforward to integrate into existing production lines. 

Rain gear, tents and sleeping bags often integrate Platilon® / Dureflex® films because they are tear-resistant and combine external waterproofing with internal comfort. Safety certification provides added trust and reliability for suppliers, manufacturers and consumers.

Our TPU film solutions also make it possible to integrate performance-measuring features into smart athletic clothing material - using printed electronics and sensors that can be applied to our films. Thanks to the built-in chemical safety provided by OEKO-TEX® certifications, our films are also a popular choice for mattresses, bedding, pillows, and furniture.
