Secure energy flow: Innovative polyurethane solutions for pipeline Integrity
Recognizing that energy supply is a paramount concern: This is why we use polyurethanes made from Baytherm® for insulated pipes to optimize the thermal insulation properties. These materials possess low thermal conductivity properties and exceptional durability, making them ideal for pipeline insulation. The combination of our pipe insulation foam and Desmophen®, providing reliable corrosion protection, forms a forward-looking overall package to sustain the energy flow. Our commitment extends to offering solutions for pipeline corrosion, ensuring the integrity of these essential conduits for the transportation of gases and liquids. Trust us as your reliable partner in maintaining the strength, durability, and efficiency of your pipeline systems.
Fast-curing protective coatings for pipeline rehabilitation and field joints
Our coatings help protect pipeline surfaces against corrosion, abrasion, and mechanical damage. For damaged coatings or newly welded field joints, our 2K polyurethane/polyurea hybrid systems offer a single-layer alternative to multi-layer OEM applied 3LPP/3LPE (3-layer polypropylene/polyethylene) solutions.
Built on our Desmodur® polyisocyanate and Desmophen®, Arcol®, and Baytherm® polyol raw materials, these high-film-build coatings can reach film thicknesses of 1.5 mm or more and cure within 1–2 hours (versus 6–8 hours for liquid epoxy systems), enabling rapid return to service even at lower temperatures. Formulations can be tuned for extra flexibility or impact durability, depending on the installation environment, and can be applied on-site by airless spray across a wide range of climate conditions. Field trials with partners have validated performance in harsh, high-salinity soil environments.
