Applications
Desmophen® 1652 is used in combination with Desmodur® VL to formulate flexible solvent-free coatings and sealers.
If Desmodur® L or HL are used, the formulations will only yield a drying film if they are greatly overcrosslinked.

Solubility / thinnability
Desmophen® 1652 can be thinned with esters and ketones such as ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, methyl ethyl ketone, methylisobutyl ketone, 1-methoxypropylacetate-2, cyclohexanone and acetone. However, the solutions formed must be tested for their storage stability.
Prolonged storage of a solution with low binder content may result in turbidity and sedimentation.
Only PU grade solvents should be used (< 0.05 % water, free from other reactive impurities).
Compatibility
Desmophen® 1652 can be combined with Desmophen® 800, 1100 and 1200 and with Desmodur® L and HL.
Compatibility testing is always advisable.
Storage

General information: The product is slightly hygroscopic. The product is subject to hazing at low temperatures. After heating or prolonged storage at room temperature, the product should become clear and can then be used with no adverse effects on quality.
Storage time
Covestro represents that, for a period of {{storageTimeWarrantyInMonths}} following the day of shipment as stated in the respective transport documents, the product will meet the specifications or values set forth in chapter "Specification" above, what ever is applicable, provided that the product is stored in full compliance with the storage conditions set forth in and referenced under chapter "storage" above and is otherwise handled appropriately. The lapse of the {{storageTimeWarrantyInMonths}} period does not necessarily mean that the product no longer meets specifications or the set values. However, prior to using said product, Covestro recommends to test such a product if it still meets the specifications or the set values. Covestro does not make any representation regarding the product after the lapse of the {{storageTimeWarrantyInMonths}} period and Covestro shall not be responsible or liable in any way for the product failing to meet specifications or the set values after the lapse of the {{storageTimeWarrantyInMonths}} period.
