Applications
Bayhydrol® A 2427 is preferably combined with anionic hydrophilically modified polyisocyanates such as Bayhydur® ultra 2487/1 to formulate transparent and pigmented primers and topcoats. Topcoats based on Bayhydrol® A 2427 and Bayhydur® ultra 2487/1 are characterized by their good chemical resistance properties, especially their resistance to discoloring liquids.Bayhydrol® A 2427 can be used to formulate hard and scratch-resistant one-component coatings for the coating of polystyrene and ABS. The coatings provide high ethanol and creme resistances, especially in one-component metallic monocoat systems.A further advantage of Bayhydrol® A 2427 is its good resistance to yellowing.Bayhydrol® A 2427 can be combined with polyurethane dispersions in one- and two-component formulations. It can also be combined with UV-curing, waterborne binders. In many cases, this increases the hardness of the formulation, thus improving chemical resistance. Compatibility should be tested in advance in each case.On account of their high reactivity, the formulated two-component coatings have a maximum pot life of 4 hours. The use of two-component spray equipment is therefore recommended, particularly in the case of pigmented formulations.Water, water/acetone mixtures, water/alcohol mixtures (in particular with the addition of 0.5 to 5 % N,N-dimethylethanolamine) or alkaline cleaning agents are suitable as cleaning formulation for application equipment.

Storage
- Storage in original sealed Covestro containers.
- Recommended storage temperature: > 0 ≤ 30 °C.
- Protect from frost, heat and foreign material.
General information: The product is sensitive to frost. Prolonged freezing can damage the product irreversibly. Prolonged storage at higher temperatures may result in a decrease of viscosity and/or an increase of average particle size, possibly resulting in sedimentation or coagulation.
Contamination with certain bacteria, fungi or algae may render the product unusable. On the basis of the given intrinsic product properties and the respective circumstances during storage the product may show a slight film formation also in the original packaging. Pre-filtration of the material before use is recommended.
Storage time
Covestro represents that, for a period of six months following the day of shipment as stated in the respective transport documents, the product will meet the specifications or values set forth in section "specifications or characteristic data" above, what ever is applicable, provided that the product is stored in full compliance with the storage conditions set forth in and referenced under section "storage" above and is otherwise handled appropriately. The lapse of the six months period does not necessarily mean that the product no longer meets specifications or the set values. However, prior to using said product, Covestro recommends to test such a product if it still meets the specifications or the set values. Covestro does not make any representation regarding the product after the lapse of the six months period and Covestro shall not be responsible or liable in any way for the product failing to meet specifications or the set values after the lapse of the six months period.
