Softcel VE-1100 polyether polyol is a unique polyol for the production of slabstock and molded viscoelastic foam.
Product description
Applications
Softcel VE-1100 polyether polyol is a unique polyol for the production of slabstock and molded viscoelastic foam. It provides expanded formulating and processing flexibility and is designed to offer enhanced reactivity and promote cure of high density viscoelastic foams. This allows for the production of a wide range of viscoelastic foam grades with consistent performance properties that can be tailored to end-use applications.Softcel VE-1100 is typically employed as the primary polyether polyol in TDI based formulations of most standard density and firmness grades of slabstock foams. Firm grades may require an addition of a high solids polymer such as Arcol® HS-200 polymer. Low level addition of a high hydroxyl foam modifier/extender is generally recommended to control foam recover rates. Most other standard chemical intermediates may be employed. Use of a lower functionality MDI such as Mondur® 3694 may be beneficial for processing very high density slabstock grades and is recommended for production of molded viscoelastic foam. As with any product, use of Softcel VE-1100 polyol in a given application must be tested (including but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability.

Storage
Softcel VE-1100 polyol is slightly hygroscopic and may absorb water. Containers should be kept tightly closed and protected from contamination with moisture and foreign materials, which can adversely affect product quality. This polyol can become quite viscous at low temperatures. For ease of handling, storage temperatures between 15°C (59°F) and 60°C (140°F) are recommended. The shelf life is twelve months after receipt of material by customer, when stored in sealed original containers under conditions stated above.
