According to national regulations, starting from January 1, 2019, no enterprise may use HCFC-141B as a foaming agent to manufacture refrigerated containers. Covestro is the first PU manufacturer to develop a more environmentally friendly cyclopentane foaming agent to replace 141B foaming agent in the refrigerated container industry. In 2015, it successfully helped the three largest refrigerated container manufacturers in the industry - Maersk, CIMC, and Singamas - to replace 100% of the 141B system, thus jointly creating a more environmentally friendly refrigerated container transportation industry.
