Water-reducible, aliphatic, self-crosslinking stoving urethane resin.Bayhytherm® 3246 is used for the formulation of waterborne, one-component baking systems such as waterborne primer surfacer or general purpose industrial coatings. Bayhytherm® 3246 is the further development of Bayhytherm® 3146 without NMP.
Product description
Applications
Bayhytherm® 3246 is used for the formulation of waterborne, one-component baking systems such as waterborne fillers or general purpose industrial coatings. Coating films based on Bayhytherm® 3246 exhibit extraordinary impact strength, adhesion and overcoatability. Bayhytherm® 3246 can also be used as an additive to conventional waterborne stoving systems to improve flexibility, impact strength and adhesion. The product is characterized by a high reactivity, good pigment wetting and thermal stability. Because it is easyer to dilute, it also offers advantages with respect to the solids content and filling power of the coating systems at spray viscosity.Typical curing parameters are 30 min at 130 °C. The product exhibits overbaking stability up to 120 min at 190 °C. Slight thermal yellowing may occur depending on the baking temperature and time.
