Applications
Finish for polyurethane coatingsImpranil® 43031 solution is used alone, in combination with Impranil ELH-A/1 as a topcoat. When thinned accordingly, Impranil® 43031 solution is equally well-suited for use as a screening and spray finish.

Processing
ThinningImpranil® 43031 solution can be thinned with solvent mixtures of aromatic hydrocarbons and alcohols to the desired brush viscosity.Suitable solvents are: toluene or mixtures of toluene/isopropanol toluene/isopropanol/1-methoxypropanol-2 and dimethylformamideIn no case should the content of aromatic hydrocarbons in the overall solvent mixture be less than 33 %, nor should the content of alcohols exceed 67 %.MixturesThe surface finish and handle of the coating can be varied by mixing Impranil® 43031 solution with Impranil ELH-A/1 solution. This mixtures also result in improved bending fracture strength. The mixtures do not significantly alter the softening range and plasticizer swelling of Impranil® 43031 solution.
Film properties
The data given below are average values measured in approx. 0.1 mm transparent films of Impranil® 43031 solution. The volume swelling decreases again as the solvent evaporates. *These values provide general information and are not part of the product specification.
