General Characterization
Desmodur WP 260 dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate (HMDI)-terminated polyether prepolymer that is based on polypropylene ether glycol (PPG).

Storage Conditions
Desmodur WP 260 should be stored in tightly sealed original containers and protected from contamination with moisture and other foreign substances, which can adversely affect processing. It will react slowly with water to form CO2 gas, which may cause sealed containers to expand and rupture. Partially filled containers should be blanketed with dry nitrogen. Recommended storage temperature is 25º-50ºC (77o-122oF).
If Desmodur WP 260 prepolymer is stored for prolonged periods at or below 25°C (77oF), crystallization and settling may occur. If crystals do form, they can be melted with moderate, indirect heat (40°– 50°C / 104o-122oF) in a well-ventilated oven for the minimum time necessary to render the prepolymer clear. When the crystals are melted, the prepolymer should be agitated by rolling the container or stirring until the contents are homogeneous. Since the heated Desmodur WP 260 prepolymer will generate vapors more rapidly than the prepolymer at 25°C (77°F), be sure to follow the precautions listed on the Safety Data Sheet in Section 8 (Exposure Controls/Personal Protection) when opening a heated container of Desmodur WP 260 prepolymer.
