Product description
Applications
Polyol component for two-component polyurethane resin for vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM).Baydur 120V2 in combination with Desmodur® 44CP23 is intended for the production of fiber-reinforced composites. The polyurethane resin has a very low viscosity and a long pot life at ambient temperature and a fast cure at elevated temperature.
Sampling
Moisture access should be prevented.

Storage
Drums should be protected against strong sunlight and always kept sealed to protect the contents from moisture or damp air. Polyols can absorb moisture from the air and this may affect processing properties. Keep the container tightly closed in a well-ventilated place.Recommended storage temperature: 5 - 30 °CShelf life (ex works): 180 days if stored in sealed, moisture-tight containersLengthy storage can lead to a color-change from slightly purple towards yellow; in our experience this has no adverse effect on processing and product properties.
Processing
Baydur 120V2 is intended to be used in combination with isocyanate Desmodur 44CP23. Polyols can absorb moisture from the air and this may cause foaming of the resin mixture. Keep the containers tighly closed and limit exposure to moisture from the air as much as possible while transfering, before and during infusion process. When fibre-reinforced materials are prepared, moisture in the reinforcement material should be kept at a minimum to prevent foaming of the resin. It is therefore recommended to dry the reinforcement lay-up before performing the infusion. The two components should be thoroughly degassed with agitation before processing to avoid formation of bubbles in the composite.Mixing ratio
