Lower emissions: Baynat® foam manufacturing leads to fewer VOC emissions

A recent example is the new Baynat® headliner system. It was developed to emit fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs) overall of the finished foam. To date, catalyst scavengers have often been used in formulations to lower VOC emissions. However, this increases the cost and complexity of the formulation.
The new Covestro Baynat® development achieves very low emissions without the use of extra scavengers. This not only saves formulation costs, it also challenges the view that low-emission formulations cannot be developed without the use of scavengers.
