Pipe coating: Durable protection for large-scale projects

For large-scale projects, that often means finding a particularly fast-curing solution in order to process and transport several kilometers of pipe within a reasonable timeframe. Solutions like our 2K solvent-free PU pipe coating technology based on Desmodur® and Desmophen® offer advantages such as direct-to-metal spraying, rapid curing and rugged results that withstand not only everyday strains, but also the long haul to the field.
Pipe insulation: Rigid PU foams keep energy in the pipeline
We support pipe manufacturers in the production of insulated pipes thanks to solutions like Baytherm®, a rigid PU foam core situated between the inner steel pipe carrying the medium and a concentrically arranged protective tube or jacket. Baytherm® is suitable for pipe diameters from 5 mm to 2,000 mm with insulation thicknesses up to 250 mm. It offers outstanding insulation, good mechanical resistance, high heat stability and low water absorption. Our rigid PU foams promote greater energy efficiency in pipeline applications by minimizing heat exchange with the environment.
Hoses and tubes: Strong, chemical-resistant plastics for industrial applications
For plastic tubes and hoses, we offer our custom-formulated thermoplastic polyurethane Desmopan® DP 1350D. The highly extrudable melt solidifies quickly for superior dimensional stability and tight tolerances. This esther-based TPU also withstands bursting pressures upwards of 25 bar, making it a perfect candidate for pneumatics and pressure control systems, as well as fuel and lubricant hoses and chemical pipelines. Beyond excellent flexibility and a low compression set, industrial users can benefit from a very good resistance to wear, oils, and other chemicals.
