General Characterization
Mondur 489 is a high-functionality polymeric diphenylmethane-diisocyanate (PMDI).
Storage Conditions
Mondur 489 polyisocyanate must be stored in tightly closed containers and protected from moisture and foreign materials, which can adversely affect processing. It will react slowly with water to form polyureas and liberate carbon dioxide gas, which may cause sealed containers to expand and rupture. Recommended storage temperatures are 10° to 30°C (50° to 86°F).
The shelf life is six months after receipt of material by customer, when stored in sealed original containers under conditions stated above.
