Product description
Aliphatic high-molecular-weight polyester polyurethane.Desmomelt® U 410 M is a fine powder for the production of non-yellowing, thermally activatable hot melt adhesives. Desmomelt® U 410 M is particularly well suited for applications with low thermal activation temperatures, such as in automotive, textile, footwear, packaging and furniture applications. With Desmomelt® U 410 M, fast and environmentally friendly lamination processes can be realized, e.g. by direct application of the powder. Desmomelt® U 410 M has very good adhesion to textile substrates and to a variety of other materials such as soft PVC, rubber, wood, polyurethane elastomers.
Applications
Features / Application Desmomelt® U 410 M has excellent bonding properties on most synthetic and natural materials. Desmomelt® U 410 M can be mixed with other Desmomelt® U-types to adapt the properties to specific requirements. The heat resistance, hydrolysis resistance as well as resistance to plasticizers, fats and oils can be increased by the addition of a solid powdered polyisocyanate, e.g. Desmodur® Z 2589. Pay attention to the pot life of the mixture.A formulation may be required to adapt to application-specific and technical characteristics. For heat-activated adhesive applications with Desmomelt® U 410 M, an adhesive bon line temperature in the range of > 55 °C is recommended, so that the applied adhesive layer is fully activated. The actual temperature required for a particular application depends on the formulation, the time spent in the press, the pressure applied, and the substrates to be bonded. As with any product, the use of Desmomelt® U 410 M in a given application must be pre-tested by the user (including but not limited to field trials) to determine suitability.
