A 30% bio-based binder for low-VOC wall paints
Delivering high performance with sustainably sourced materials
Whether for interiors or exteriors, consumers increasingly look for more sustainable wall paints – in particular, those with low VOC emissions. This is driven by higher awareness of indoor air quality, as well as updates to labeling standards such as the Nordic Swan and Ecolabel.
At the same time, consumers want these more sustainable solutions to match the performance of traditional alternatives. For wall paints, this means withstanding the wear and tear of daily life.
Decovery® CQ 8411: Meeting demand for low-VOC wall paints…
To meet these needs, we’ve developed a new low-VOC-emission binder for wall paints: Decovery® CQ 8411.
This water-based binder contains 30% bio-based, C14-certified content, and doesn’t require an additional co-solvent. Thanks to these properties, Decovery® CQ 8411 meets both Ecolabel and Nordic Swan labeling standards – making it easier for you to respond to your customers’ sustainability demands.
... that still withstand harsh environments
Not only that, but we’ve also put Decovery® CQ 8411’s functional performance to the test. These tests showed that – when formulated in a low-PVC matt wall paint – its performance was comparable to traditional styrene-acrylic binders.
Specifically, Decovery® CQ 8411 offers good scrub and burnishing resistance, and retains its properties while exposed to UV light. In this way, it helps you continue creating paints that protect walls against wear and tear, while also staying ahead of regulatory and market changes.
