General Characterization
DESMODUR VP.PU 60RE70 is a mixture of 4,4'-, 2,4'- and 2,2'-diphenylmethane diisocyanat with a relatively high content of 2,4'-isomers.
It can be used in conjunction with polyols for the production of polyurethane products.
Storage Conditions
Recommended storage temperature: 20 – 35 °C
Protect from moisture, heat and foreign material.
Covestro represents that, for a period of 6 months following the day of shipment as stated in the respective delivery documents, the product will meet the values set forth in section "specification" above provided that the product is stored in full compliance with the storage conditions and is otherwise handled appropriately.
The lapse of this period does not necessarily mean that the product no longer meets specifications. However, prior to using said product, Covestro recommends to test such a product if it still meets the specifications. Covestro does not make any representation regarding the product after the period and Covestro shall not be responsible or liable in any way for the product failing to meet specifications after the period.
Storage for long periods at temperatures below 20 °C or above 35 °C leads to a deterioration in quality. At temperatures below 20 °C starts crystallisation, encouraging the formation of infusible dimers. This makes it impossible to completely melt the product, even if it has been stored for only 3 weeks. Storage at temperatures above 35 °C also accelerates the formation of insoluble sediment (dimers). Freshly crystallised DESMODUR VP.PU 60RE70 must be remelted. In doing so, it is important to ensure that the entire contents of the drum are melted and homogenised. The product should then be kept sealed at the recommended storage temperature.
