General Characterization
Bayhydur® quix 306-70 is a hydrophillic aliphatic polyisocyanate based on hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) and toluene diisocyanate (TDI). It is used as a hardener for fast drying waterborne two component polyurethane systems
Storage Conditions
-Store in the original, sealed Covestro container
-Recommended storage temperature: 0° - 30° C (32° - 86° F)
-Protect from moisture, excessive heat and foreign material contamination
General information: Hydrophilic isocyanates are very moisture sensitive and react readily with water to form carbon dioxide and insoluble ureas. The containers must always be kept tightly closed. The introduction of water in all forms (atmospheric humidity, solvents, wet containers) must be prevented because the generation of carbon dioxide can lead to dangerous increases in pressure. Elevated temperature storage can result in color and viscosity increase.
