General Characterization
Baydur 426 IMR is a polyurethane high density structural RIM (HD SRIM) system.
Storage Conditions
Component A (PMDI Isocyanate) should be stored in tightly closed containers and protected from moisture and foreign materials, which can adversely affect processing. It will react slowly with water to form ureas and liberate carbon dioxide gas, which may cause sealed containers to expand and rupture. Storage should be maintained at temperatures between 10° and 30°C (50° and 86°F).
Component B (Polyol system) is slightly hygroscopic and may absorb water. Containers should be kept tightly closed and protected from contamination with moisture and foreign materials, which can adversely affect processing. Storage temperatures should be in the range of 20° and 49°C (68° and 120°F). Note: This polyol system will separate into phases without agitation. Therefore, it is important to mix thoroughly prior to and during its use.
