Product description
Bayhydrol® UH 2889 is an aliphatic polyurethane resin dispersion which is suitable for decorative peelable coatings applications in the automotive aftermarket. It is also suitable for protective coatings for transportationand construction applications
Applications
On demand customization is made possible with Bayhydrol® UH 2889 for decorative and protective peelable coating systems. For the automotive aftermarket, key properties include superior gasoline resistance, improved scratch resistance, and greater efficiency. Heavy duty properties combined with a safe and easy removal process allows users to customize the appearance of their vehicle. Other important features include easy peelability over a wide variety of substrates (i.e., automotive OEM and refinish coatings, various plastic substrates, polished aluminum and chrome) even after exposure to elevated temperatures. Bayhydrol® UH 2889 allows for the ability to formulate higher solids coatings which reduces the number of coats needed to reach optimum peelability.
Other applications for peelable coatings formulated with Bayhydrol® UH 2889 could include protective applications such as, automotive OEM delivery wraps, transportation, architecture, furniture and construction.

Compatibility
Bayhydrol® UH 2889 is generally compatible with water-reducible polyesters and some acrylic dispersions. Given the many resins available on the market, compatibility testing is recommended.
Storage
Bayhydrol® UH 2889 should be stored in tightly sealed original containers and protected from freezing, heat, and foreign materials. Recommended storage temperature is 5° to 23°C.
