Moisture access should be prevented. The product must be homogenized before processing.
Applications
Baypreg F 315 system is a two component polyurethane system used in compression molding of fiber-reinforced sandwich panels to produce a variety of automotive parts. Some identified applications include door panels, sunshades, spare tire covers, load floors, etc. The Baypreg F 315 system provides lightweight alternatives to ABS, PP, SMC, and wood products while demonstrating very high flexural stiffness and excellent thermal properties. Baypreg F 315 system offers very diverse properties over a wide range of part thicknesses and densities while still providing cost effective substrate parts when combined with reinforcing materials. As with any product, use of the Baypreg F 315 system in a given application must be tested (including field testing, etc.) in advance by the user to determine suitability.

Storage
The isocyanate, Component A (MDI isocyanate) should be stored in tightly closed containers and protected from contamination with moisture and foreign materials, which can adversely affect processing. It will react slowly with water to form polyureas and liberate carbon dioxide gas, which may cause sealed containers to expand and rupture. Storage temperature should be maintained between 10° and 30°C (50° and 86°F). The polyol blend, Component B, is hygroscopic and should be protected from atmospheric moisture by sealing the container, or blanketing the product with a dry atmosphere. Component B is not phase stable and needs mixed thoroughly before and during use. Contamination with foreign materials, which can adversely affect processing, should be avoided. Materials should be stored at normal room temperature (18° to 30°C).
