Modified waterborne polyurethane dispersion Specifically suit for non-polar surface, e.g. PE, PP substrates. Provide direct adhesion to non-polar surfaces without pre-treatments, such as primer, flame, plasma, etc. Could be used as one component
Product description
Applications
The viscosity of Bayhydrol® UO 1711 is dependent on pH value. As the pH value may decrease during storage, a decrease in viscosity must also be expected. The viscosity can be restored to its original value by adding small amounts of an aqueous 10 % solution of dimethyl ethanol amine. This product is particularly developed for good adhesion to non-polar substrates, e.g. polypropylene. In order to customise the specific application and technical properties, pigments, wetting agents, thickeners, etc. also be added based on requirements. Before application, especially by spraying application, recommend mixing it uniformly and filter to remove any particles. It is recommended to achieve stable and excellent adhesion to polypropylene by force drying, e.g. above 85°C baking. Backing temperatue and time depends on the substrate form and film thinckness. The product shows good compatibility. Combination with other water-reducible binders is possible. However, compatibility tests should always be carried out.CleaningAll equipment should be cleaned immediately after use or left to soak in water. Warm water, alkaline cleaning agents or alkaline isopropyl alcohol are suitable for cleaning.Dry film of this product is less resistant to acetone, acetic ether, toluene, petroleum ether, etc.

Storage
- Storage in original sealed Covestro containers.- Recommended storage temperature: 5 - 23 °C, temperatures higher than 30 °C should be avoided - Protect from frost, heat and foreign material.General information: The product is sensitive to frost. Freezing can damage the product irreversibly. Prolonged storage at higher temperatures may affect the product properties and possibly resulting in sedimentation or coagulation. Containers must be kept sealed and protected from direct sunlight as otherwise the evaporation of water will result in the formation of a non-redispersible polymer film.Contamination with certain bacteria, fungi or algae may render the product unusable.
Storage time
