Mondur MR 5 is a low to medium functionality polymeric diphenylmethane diisocyanate (pMDI) containing a relatively high level of pure (monomeric) MDI.
Product description
Applications
Mondur MR 5 has a relatively high reactivity together with an extended gel time due to the high monomer content making it especially useful for microcellular and solid specialty elastomers. Mondur MR 5 also has utility in adhesive and sealants applications. As with any product, use of Mondur MR 5 in a given application must be tested (including but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability.

Storage
Mondur MR 5 isocyanate must be stored in tightly closed containers and protected from contamination with moisture and foreign materials, which can adversely affect processing. It will react slowly with water to form polyureas and liberate carbon dioxide gas, which may cause sealed containers to rupture. Storage temperatures should be maintained at 24° to 30°C (75° to 86°F).The shelf life is six months after receipt of material by customer, when stored in sealed original containers under conditions stated above.
