In the formulation of flexible coatings and sealing compounds.
Applications
Desmodur® ultra E 15 can be combined with a suitable hardener to formulate highly reactive two-component systems which yield highly flexible highbuild coatings, e. g. for use as crackbridging coatings on concrete surfaces. Combination with latent hardener (bisoxazolidine) produces highly flexible one-component systems, e. g. for coating flat roofs.

Solubility / thinnability
Generally speaking, Desmodur® ultra E 15 has good compatibility with esters such as ethyl acetate, butyl acetate and 1-methoxypropylacetate-2 and with aromatic hydrocarbons such as toluene, xylene and Solvesso® 100. However, the solutions formed must be tested for their storage stability.
Alcohols cannot be used because they react with Desmodur® ultra E 15.
Only PU grade solvents should be used (< 0.05 % water). The solvent should not contain reactive groups.
Prolonged storage of a solution with low binder content may result in turbidity and sedimentation.

- Storage in original sealed Covestro container.
- Recommended storage temperature: 10 - 30 °C.
- Protect from moisture, heat and foreign material.
General information: The product is sensitive to moisture and should therefore be stored in its sealed original containers. Storage at high temperatures results in increased viscosity.

The product is mainly used as a hardener in coating materials or adhesives. The handling of coating materials or adhesives containing reactive polyisocyanates and residual levels of monomeric TDI requires appropriate protective measures (see safety data sheet). They may therefore only be used in industrial or professional applications. They are not suitable for use in do-it-yourself applications.
