Applications
Dispercoll® U 88 PLUS has outstanding bonding properties on most synthetic and natural materials. The thermal stability and resistance to plasticisers, grease and oil can be increased by the addition of 2 – 7 % by weight of a water-emulsifiable polyisocyanate from the Desmodur® range. The crosslinker is added just before application of the adhesive and mixed thoroughly. Attention should be paid to the pot life of the formulation. In order to customise other application-specific and technical properties, resin dispersions, emulsifiers and thickeners may also be added. Before application, especially by spraying, the product should be filtered to remove any polymer particles which may have formed by initial drying. For heat activation bonding applications with Dispercoll® U 88 PLUS, a bond line temperature in the range of approx. 55 – 65 °C or even higher is recommended to allow the dried adhesive layer to be fully activated for bonding. The actual temperature needed for a specific application will depend on the time in the press, the pressure applied and the substrates being bonded.

Storage
- Storage in original sealed Covestro containers. - Recommended storage temperature: 5 - 23 °C, temperatures higher than 30 °C should be avoided. - Protect from direct sunlight, frost, heat and foreign material.General information: The product is sensitive to frost. Freezing can damage the product irreversibly. Prolonged storage at higher temperatures may affect the product properties and possibly resulting in sedimentation or coagulation. Containers must be kept sealed and protected from direct sunlight as otherwise the evaporation of water will result in the formation of a non-redispersible polymer film.Contamination with certain bacteria, fungi or algae may render the product unusable.
Storage time
Covestro represents that, for a period of six months following the day of shipment as stated in the respective transport documents, the product will meet the specifications or values set forth in section "specifications or characteristic data" above, what ever is applicable, provided that the product is stored in full compliance with the storage conditions set forth in and referenced under section "storage" above and is otherwise handled appropriately.The lapse of the six months period does not necessarily mean that the product no longer meets specifications or the set values. However, prior to using said product, Covestro recommends to test such a product if it still meets the specifications or the set values. Covestro does not make any representation regarding the product after the lapse of the six months period and Covestro shall not be responsible or liable in any way for the product failing to meet specifications or the set values after the lapse of the six months period.
