Slightly branched, saturated, hydroxyl-bearing polyester resin
Product description
Applications
Coreactant for Desmodur® L/ultra L-type aromatic polyisocyanates in two-component polyurethane coatings.
Desmophen® R-12 polyester is used either alone or with other Desmophen® and Desmophen® polyester resins as a coreactant for Desmodur® L and ultra L type aromatic polyisocyanates to produce two-component polyurethane coatings that exhibit a good balance of hardness and flexibility.Desmophen® R-12 polyester can be combined with Desmophen® 1100 polyester, and reacted with Desmodur® L and ultra L polyisocyanates to give compositions that are suitable for clear and pigmented metal finishes.Desmophen® R-12 polyester can be combined with Desmophen® R 221 75 polyester and Desmodur® L/ultra L-grades give coating compositions that are suitable for clear and pigmented wood finishes. Clear finishes for wood, in outdoor exposure, are not recommended. As with any product, use of Desmophen® R-12 in a given application must be tested (including but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability.
