Product description
Desmodur E 743 is a polyisocyanate prepolymer based on diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI).
Applications
Desmodur E 743 polyisocyanate produces one-component highly resilient, rubbery-like films with an extremely high abrasion resistance. Coatings based on Desmodur E 743 polyisocyanate are resistant to acids and alkalies of medium concentration. Solvents cause swelling of the flexible urethane coating. Desmodur E 743 polyisocyanate is not resistant to yellowing.Desmodur E 743 polyisocyanate is compatible with and is considered to be a suitable flexibilizer for materials based on Desmodur E 28 polyisocyanate. Desmodur E 743 polyisocyanate, when combined with Desmodur E 28 polyisocyanate, may be suitable as a moisture-cure coating for concrete to help protect the substrate against water, oils, or chemicals. Because of the high degree of flexibility, the cured films serve as a bridge over cracks. Desmodur E 743 polyisocyanate can also be used as a binder for aggregates such as rubber granules and sand. Any such application, however, should be thoroughly tested prior to use. As with any product, use of Desmodur E 743 in a given application must be tested (including but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability.

Solubility / thinnability
Desmodur E 743 is readily soluble in esters, ketones, and aromatic hydrocarbons.
Storage
Desmodur E 743 should be stored in tightly sealed original containers and protected from moisture, heat, and foreign materials. The product is sensitive to moisture. Recommended storage temperature is 5º-50ºC.
Storage time
Desmodur E 743 has a shelf life of six months from date of receipt at customer, provided the material is stored in sealed original containers at the recommended storage temperature.
