DESMODUR CQ 44 M LIQUID MB is a monomeric diphenylmethane
-4,4'-diisocyanate with a molecular weight of 250 g/mol. At room temperature the product takes the form of a white to light yellow solid.
It can be used in conjunction with polyols for the production of polyurethane products.

Like all isocyanates, DESMODUR CQ 44 M LIQUID MB is sensitive to moisture and reacts with water to form insoluble urea derivatives and carbon dioxide. The generation of carbon dioxide in sealed containers can lead to a dangerous build-up of pressure. Contact with air, especially if accompanied by simultaneous exposure to light, accelerates yellowing of
DESMODUR CQ 44 M LIQUID MB. It is therefore advisable to store liquid DESMODUR CQ 44 M LIQUID MB under dry nitrogen. Yellowing generally has no effect on the product's processing behaviour, however.
DESMODUR CQ 44 M LIQUID MB is sensitive to heat and likely to dimerization (uretdione formation).
The solid product dimerizes more rapidly at room temperature than the liquid product stored at 43 °C. Crystallized DESMODUR CQ 44 M LIQUID MB should therefore be stored at temperatures below 5 °C and melted rapidly but gently before use.
