It must be ensured that the containers - including empty tanks and containers - are kept sealed.
Above all, contact with water must be prevented as it reacts with Baymidur® K 88 HV L to form polyureas and carbon dioxide. During storage, sample withdrawal, transfer and processing of Baymidur® K 88 HV L, the ingress of water in any form (damp containers, aqueous solvents, moist air) must be prevented as otherwise the formation of carbon dioxide may cause a dangerous increase in pressure in the tanks and containers. Furthermore, the formation of polyureas in Baymidur® K 88 HV L may cause turbidity and possibly solid deposits which may then block filters, pumps and pipelines.
Storage time
Covestro certifies that the product meets specifications for {{storageTimeWarrantyInMonths}} from the date of shipment, provided it is stored and handled in accordance with the conditions specified in the ‘Storage’ section. After this period, product performance is not assured; Customers are responsible for retesting material before use. Covestro assumes no liability for product performance after {{storageTimeWarrantyInMonths}}.
Processing
Baymidur® K 88 HV L may undergo partial crystallization at temperatures below 0 °C. The product can, however, be brought back into the liquid state by heating the entire contents of the drum for a short time to a maximum of 70 °C, although this may lead to an increase in the solids content.
