Applications
Bayflex WR 7149 aromatic PUR RIM system is designed for glass encapsulation applications and can be a suitable replacement for aliphatic PUR materials. It is processed on high pressure reaction injection molding (RIM) equipment and produces an elastomer with a hardness of 55 – 60 Shore D. This system combines rapid demold time, excellent green strength and outstanding physical properties. As with any product, Bayflex WR 7149 system must be evaluated and tested (included but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability for use in a given application.
Storage
Avoid moisture contamination during storage, handling and processing. For both components, pad containers with dry nitrogen or air (desiccant cartridge or air dryer at -40°C dew point). Polyol component will phase separate. Mix polyol component to a homogenous state before use and before removing any material from container, but avoid air entrainment. Maintain adequate mixing of the polyol component during use. Recommended storage temperature for the polyol component is 10 – 30°C. Recommended storage temperature for the isocyanate component is 10 – 30°C. Do not store isocyanate component at lower temperatures – material becomes viscous; freezing may occur.
Storage time
Storage period of both components is 9 months after the date of manufacture when stored in sealed original containers under recommended storage conditions.
Processing
Substrates must be clean and dry, and free of surface contaminants; especially surface oils and release agents. The need for primer must be determined in advance by the user.
