Product description
Bayfit 566 is a moldable high resilience (HR) polyurethane flexible foam system.
Applications
Bayfit 566 is a water-blown (MDI)/polyether based foam system used to manufacture high resilience (HR) cold-cure flex molded foam with medium to high load bearing properties. This system is characterized by good flow behavior in a wide variety of parts. Applications include office furniture, recreational seating, armrests and cushions. Bayfit 566 foam made at indices ranging from 80 to 105 typically passes the requirements of CAL-117 for flame resistance. Foams made at higher indices typically do not. As with any product, use of the Bayfit 566 system in a given application must be tested (including field testing, etc.) in advance by the user to determine suitability.
Storage
Avoid moisture contamination during storage, handling and processing. For both components, pad containers with either nitrogen or dry air (desiccant cartridge or air dryer at -40°F dew point). Store polyol component from 64°F to 86°F. Mix polyol component to a homogenous state before use and before removing any material from container. For optimum shelf life, the recommended storage temperature for the isocyanate component is 64°F to 86°F. Do not expose isocyanate component to lowers temperatures – freezing may occur.
Storage time
Shelf life is 6 months if stored in factory sealed containers.
Processing
Note: Depending on mold design and processing equipment, molded part densities typically range from 3 to 3.6 pcf.
