Enabling circularity: Bio-based portfolio for wood coatings

With the EU green deal targeting to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 the need to reduce environmental impact of industrial processes like wood coatings is increasing. Although still today, this industry is mainly dominated by solvent-borne technologies, there is a growing market demand for more sustainable solutions. Since years, there is a slowly technology shift from solvent-borne to water-borne technologies, allowing to reduce C-footprint coming from the solvents. In the recent years, we have made a step further offering solutions to reduce further C-footprint by using partially bio-based raw materials. We will introduce in that presentation the available products, from resins to polyisocyanates, that allow the development of more sustainable solutions for the different needs and applications.
