Our Desmopan® FR (Flame Retardant) thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) grades offer premium protection for flame-retardant cables across various applications. These include automotive charging cables, fiber optic cables and consumer electronic cables. We provide a wide range of performance levels tailored to achieve the optimal balance of durability, safety, and design flexibility. Our formulation expertise enables the optimization of material properties to meet the requirements of various flame-retardant applications.  

Key Properties of Desmopan® FR TPU:

  • Exceptional Hydrolytic Stability and Chemical Resistance: Our material exhibits outstanding resistance to microorganisms, water, moisture, oil, grease, and high-energy radiation, ensuring prolonged cable lifespan.
  • High Performance and Flame Retardancy: With superior flexibility across extensive temperature ranges and resistance to ignition and fire spread, our TPU ensures reliable performance under demanding conditions.
  • Superior Mechanical Strength and Customization: Featuring robust tensile strength capable of withstanding significant strain (>75%), our material allows for aesthetic personalization in a variety of colors and surface styles.
  • Anti-Mildew Formulation and Halogen-Free Composition: Our formulation provides protection against mildew in humid conditions while complying with stringent safety regulations such as UL FT-2, IEC 60332-1-2, RoHS, and REACH.
