
How the EU Green deal and it’s Chemical Strategy for Sustainability will transform the coatings industry in the next decade
The European Union has adopted the EU Green Deal. The EU green deal is a set of policy initiatives that will be developed in the years to come, that aims to make the EU carbon neutral by 2050. Next to carbon neutrality also the zero pollution strategy is another important pillar within the EU Green Deal, implemented mostly by the Circular Economy Action Plan and the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability. This extensive set of legislation and policies that will be developed and implemented in the next years will drastically impact the coatings industry. Sjoerd Dijkstra, member of High Level Roundtable for the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability, will share his perspective on the impact the coatings industry will face, where are the challenges but foremost also what opportunities the EU Green Deal will give to the sustainable frontrunners in our industry.
